DEC Traditional Products

ABLE Computer was one of the earliest vendors to provide for software compatible interfaces and computer enhancements for the DEC (Digital Equipment Corp.) marketplace. From its first products, the Univerter bus converter, the Cache/45 cache, and Scat/45 cache fastbus memories, ABLE's products always extended the capabilities of the basic DEC architecture. ABLE continued its philosophy of enhancing DEC products with a complete line of ABLE replacement communication controllers such as the DMAX, DH/DM, DV/16, DZ/16 and the ever popular VMZ/32. ABLE then provided processor independent communication solutions such as MuxMaster ® and EASYway ® that, while allowing software compatibility connections to DEC, allows migration to other platforms without losing the major part of your hardware investment.

Using MuxMaster ® and EASYway ® as focus product, ABLE Communications has carried the ABLE tradition of designing products that "future-proof" customers from hardware obsolescence. ABLE's communications technology has extended its reach into the "open systems" UNIX marketplace with SCSIserver ^TM and will continue to expand that coverage.

ABLE manufactures and repairs the products listed here to allow our customers to extend the life of their existing computer installations. However, to reduce maintenance cost, Qniverter ^TM and Microverter ^TM bus converters allow our customers to migrate their applications to newer Q-bus based processor while keeping their Unibus interfaces and peripherals.

DA11 B - 4 slot system unit consisting of a DR11B with a timing card for interprocessor communications. One 4 slot system unit in each computer system allowing half-duplex parallel communications. A Unibus only product.	Buslink/Uni - Emulates the DA11 on a single hex width Unibus board. One in each system Buslink/Q - Emulates a DA11 on a singe quad width Q-bus board. One in each system. Buslink/U-Q - Same, one Unibus one Q-bus board.
DB11 A,H - Unibus repeaters. Provides for an additional 19 Unibus loads / 50 feet of Unibus.	Rebus - Smallest Unibus repeater in the world. it literally fits in your pocket.
DR11 B - 4 slot system unit for Unibus systems. Used as a general purpose DMA interface.	Interlink/Uni - Replaces DR11 B on a single hex board. Interlink/Q - Same function on quad Q-bus board
DR11 C - General purpose parallel interface for the Unibus, interrupt & PIO only. Quad width board.	Dual I/O - emulates two (2) DR11 Cs on a single quad width Unibus board.
MS11 A,B,C - Fastbus memory for the PDP 11/45, 50 and 55 computers. MOS = 600nsec, Bipolar = 300nsec. with a maximum of 64 Kbytes per system. Full memory requires 4 power supplies and lots of cold air.	SCAT/45 - 300 nsec static MOS memory allowing for a full compliment of 256 Kbytes of memory on a single power supply. TRIPLE the speed of your 11/45 -50 -55.

DL11-B - Single line async Unibus board RS232 -data only .	QuadrAsync/B - Emulates 4 DL11 Bs on a single board.
DL11-C - Single line async Unibus board 20ma current loop	QuadrAsync/C - Emulates 4 DL11 Cs on a single board.
DL11-E - Single line async board RS232 with modem control.	QuadrAsync/E - Emulates 4 DL11 Es on a single board.
DH11 - 16 port async multiplexor unit. Takes a full 9 slot system unit supporting 16 async ports at speeds up to 9600 baud. An optional DM11 module can be placed in the unit to provide for a full set of modem control lines. This unit is software supported on PDP11s and System 10 and 20 front end processors. DH11 supports DMA on output traffic.	DH/DM - emulates BOTH the DH11 and DM11 on a single hex width board. Supports speeds up to 38,400 baud while remaining fully software compatible. Partial modem control supported are adequate for dial-in or dial out operations. Q/DHU - An 8 and 16 port emulation for the Q-bus.
DHU-11 - 16 port async multiplexor board supporting both DMA and siloed output on a single board. Supported on all current Unibus based operating systems PDP & VAX.	DHU/HS - Emulates the DHU-11 with TWICE the performance.
DMF32 - General purpose comm board with 1 sync port, 1 parallel printer port and 6 data only async ports and 2 async ports with modem control. This product was the first DMA single board comm board supported on the VAX computer. The unit is ONLY supported under VMS software.	VMZ/32 - The industry's FIRST and most popular emulation of the DEC DMF32. The Able VMZ/32 only supports async ports - BUT there are 16 of them AND they ALL support modem control.
DV11 - 16 port sync/async DMA in/out communications multiplexor with protocol support for character oriented protocols such as ADCCP, Bisync, DDCMP, etc. Uses a dedicated 9 slot system unit and configuration options are soldered E-points and PM diagnostics that only run in one configuration (requires soldering to do PM diagnostics).	DV/16 - Emulates the DV11 using standard backplane slots and consumes less than half the space. Configuration options are switch selectable ( not soldered). Diagnostics print out the switch settings that the customer has set, ignores them by firmware control and runs a complete diagnostic independent of them.
DZ11 - 8 port async multiplexor on a single board. Supported on all Unibus based operating systems. Board is interrupt & PIO only.	DZ/16 - 16 ports on a single board, emulates two (2) DZ11s. There's even a version with a transparent output silo for improved performance.

Q-bus Communication Products

DHV11 - 8 async serial ports on a dual width Q-bus board. Supports DMA and siloed outputs.	QHV - 8 line emulation of the DHV11 with TWICE the performance capability. Dual width board. QHV+ - 16 line emulation of the DHV11, data only FP105 - Emulates 16 DHV11s on a single quad board using MuxMaster work area concentrators for a full 128 async port connectivity distributed over a single twisted pair link.
CXA16 - 16 async port (data only) on a quad width board.	FP106 - Emulates 8 CXA16s on a single quad board WITH modem control using MuxMaster work area concentrators for a full 128 async port connectivity distributed over a single twisted pair link.
CXY08 - 8 async serial ports with full modem control on a Quad-width Q-bus Board.	FP105 - Emulates 16 CXY08s on a single quad board using MuxMaster work area concentrators for a full 128 async port connectivity distributed over a single twisted pair link. Reduces wiring cost and improves data reliability.

LAT Ethernet Terminal Server Products

DECserver 550 - Ethernet LAT terminal server system supporting 64 ports with modem control (using CXY08s) or 128 ports without modem control (using CXA16s). The rack mount version takes 27 inches of rack space and is based on a LSI-11/53 with 1 Mbyte of memory.	PL550 - is a table top or shelf mounted unit only 4 inches high. The unit is based on an LSI-11/73 with 2 Mbyte of memory (expandable to to 4 Mb) for superior performance. Instead of embedded serial line controllers, the unit uses the MuxMaster series of work area and concentrated port concentrators connected by a single telco twisted pair wire. With a optional software patch kit, a FULL 128 ports can be made to support modem control. All MuxMaster modules can be "hot swapped" for fault tolerant - minimum down time operation. Ease of maintenance and distribution of ports in unsurpassed.
DECserver 700-xx - The only server that DEC currently offers that supports Full modem control. It is capable of both LAT & TCP with full modem control on eight (8) ports.	ServeMaster - A complete line of LAT only terminal servers supporting 8 to 16 ports with full modem and even a parallel port thrown in. These terminal servers even select non-standard baud rates like 100 & 200 and protocol conversion like Baudot-ASCII. Custom protocol support for serial lines is available. (Available with RJ45 or DB72 with DB25 octopus cabling available)
