Statistical Multiplexing
the EASYway
®
If you only require a few user ports at remote sites, there are many stat-muxes available that can solve the problem and at very competitive prices.
PROBLEM: Connect a large number of remote site ports to a centralized computer or network.
SOLUTION: The RG300 REMOTEgate is just one of the EASYway network products that can solve problems in a straight forward manner.
The picture above shows the REMOTEgate used in four different connections.
1. Using a 8 to 32 port statmux from CASE, Cray or Paradyne at up to 4 locations tied to a REMOTEgate which supports up to 128 ports to a cpu or network on a single twisted pair wire.
2. Using higher speed synchronous leased lines (56K to 256K), a larger number of ports can be handled at one or more sites using another RG300 and MuxMaster work area concentrators like the WC16s. This would be recommended for 32 to 64 ports on site.
3. For even larger sites, it is normally recommended to have at least two high speed leased lines. Not only does this allow both lines to be used for traffic, in case of a line failure, the remaining line can be used to run the site at reduced but tolerable performance. The MuxMaster unit shown here is a centralized unit for 128 ports with "hot swap" modules. However, WC16s can be used if distributed concentrators are the desired approach.
4. Using the REMOTEgate as the system or network gateway to a large private network using CASE, Cray or Paradyne DCX networking.
